The Doctrine of the Churches of Christ

We generally speak   where the Bible speaks and are silent where the Bible is silent.  The Bible is our only guide - no additional creeds/booklets/instructions is required.

The absolute guidance from the scriptures is taken from three hermeneutical principles:

1. We follow commandments of the scriptures

2. We follow examples from the Apostles

3. We derive necessary inferences from the scripture

Our scriptural tenet is taken from Revelation 22:18 or 19: "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

In line with our doctrinal beliefs, our worship services must at all times consist of the following practices:

1. Singing (acapella)

2. Preaching (study of God's word)

3. Prayer

4. Giving (weekly)

5. Communion (weekly)
