SHEPHERDING MINISTRY
RETENTION AND RESTORATION:
Administrators: Wallace Murray and Cordell John
Purpose: To unify and lead the body through that which has been duplicated into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ that
strengthens the church, the Body of Christ.
Scope of Work: Responsible for ministering to the needs of the congregation, shepherding, serving, exhorting, leading, and
providing spiritual nurture and equipping members for ministry.
NEW CONVERTS/NEW MEMBERS:
Administrators: Wallace Murray and Cordell John
Provide information to new converts/members to help them feel at home and help them bond to the church through relationships.
CRISES INTERVENTION:
Coordinators: Kenneth Johnson and Ann John
Responsible for building a sense of community in the congregation through reaching out and ministering to the special needs of the members – death, health, food, jobs, housing, recovery, family problems, counseling, public assistance, financial difficulties, and other hardships.
VISITATION:
Coordinator: Guillaume Charlorin
Responsible for visiting and arranging visits to the sick, hospitalized/home and in nursing homes and pray for them daily. Visit new members and new converts, seniors and regular members.
FELLOWSHIP:
Coordinator: Paulson Forde
Planning and coordinating special and social events for new members/converts and the congregation at large.
HOSPITALITY:
Coordinator: Winnifred Steele
Responsible for inviting and organizing fellowship meals, special luncheons, or dinners that relate to new members/converts.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Coodinator: Suelie Forde
Send letter of recognition to our new members/converts within 5-7 days. Prepare monthly list of baptism and membership. Send out invitations to visitors informing of all upcoming events.
ATTENDANCE:
Coodinators: Dumah Mattis and Norma Codrington
Maintain a weekly attendance record of members at church services with focus on new members/converts so as to maintain regular contact with the membership.
FAMILY MEMBERS’ INFORMATION:
Coodinator: Anthony Sanchez
Keeping telephone directory up-to-date, getting records of all families so that church records, attendance, and membership can be used to develop plans for spiritual and numerical growth.
PRAYER:
Coodinator: Carl Mallory
Will pray continually and consistently for a great variety of needs. Contact appropriate person in prayer group for additional support, organize prayer sessions in homes or specific sites; pray for every request made/received. Develop a rotation schedule. Be available for emergency request. Pray for the church, nation, leaders of countries, ministers, leaders (local and worldwide), elders, and deacons. Be easily accessible by phone.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Coodinator: Lystra Williams
Responsible for researching, collecting, and sharing information with Leaders concerning members’ needs, and opportunities as they become known from group leaders. Organize one-on-one or group discussions on special request from shared information.
YOUTH:
Coordinators: Curtis and Beverly Alexander
To develop a lasting interest in the youth of the Kings Church of Christ; to impress upon their minds the characteristics of Jesus Christ through the teachings of God’s Word; to guide them to acceptable and godly living by teaching them the value of glorifying God with their lives; and to show them the rewards of being true to themselves and the joy and satisfaction that comes
from serving others.
