Kings Scholarships

Kings Church of Christ is committed to service, leadership, and education.  We have several scholarships to aid students on their educational journey.

1.  Classroom Conquerors Scholarship ($500)

The Classroom Conquerors Scholarship was established in September 2014 in conjunction with the Classroom Conquerors event.Classroom Conquerors is an event sponsored by the Kings Church of Christ geared towards educational and community empowerment.The event provides educational resources for students from elementary through high school.Ivy league professors, educators, activists, a college fair, persons of particular trades, and amazing prizes makes Classroom Conquerors an en event second to none.

 

The Classroom Conquerors Scholarship is given to high school senior who attend the Classroom Conquerors event in their senior year of high school.Four scholarships are given to students who plan to attend a traditional college or university, while one scholarship is given to a student who plans to go to a trade school.

 

To be considered for the Classroom Conquerors Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Attend the Classroom Conquerors event in October (as a high school senior).

  • Be a graduating high school senior going to a college, university, or trade school.

  • Complete the Classroom Conquerors Scholarship application before the deadline.  Applications are only        

        sent to high school seniors who attended the Classroom Conquerors event.

 

 

2. Counseling Scholarship ($1500)

Kings Church of Christ established the Counseling Scholarship in 2015 to support students in the Churches of Christ who choose to major in family studies, counseling, social science, or psychology etc.

 

To be considered for the Counseling Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current, active member of the Churches of Christ (for at least

         three years)

  • Be a student of color

  • Be a graduating high school senior – graduate student

 

STEP 1: Submit Counseling application by October 31.

STEP 2: Submit a  recommendation from an established minister, church leader, or teacher by October 31 (copy,               paste, & send the link to the person completing your recommendation). 

STEP 3: Submit a CV/ Resume by October 31.

STEP 4: Submit proof of enrollment by October 31.

 

 

3.  Kings Scholars Scholarship

The Kings Scholars Scholarship was established in 2015 and is funded by members of the Kings Church of Christ in Brooklyn, NY.  As a part of encouraging service, leadership, and education, the Kings Church of Christ established a scholarship fund for graduating high school students who plan to attend a traditional college, university, or trade school.

 

To be considered for the Kings Scholars Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current, active member (for at least three years) of the Kings Church of Christ.

  • Be a graduating high school senior going to a college, university, or trade school.

 

STEP 1: Submit Kings Scholars Scholarship application upon completion of applicant's high school senior year.

STEP 2: Submit a high school diploma.

STEP 3: Submit a letter of acceptance/ proof of enrollment from the prospective college, university, or trade school.

 

 

4.  Minister’s Scholarship ($1500)

The Minister’s Scholarship was established in 2015 by the Kings Church of Christ to encourage students who are studying ministry in the Churches of Christ.  After seeing the scarcity of scholarships for Church of Christ students of color aspiring to study ministry, Kings Church of Christ saw a need to establish this scholarship.

 

To be considered for the Minister’s Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current, active member of the Churches of Christ (for at least

       three years).

  • Be a student of color.

  • Be a graduating high school senior – graduate student, majoring in

       religion, ministry, theology etc.

 

STEP 1: Submit the Minister's Scholarship application by October 31.

STEP 2: Submit a recommendation from an established minister in the Churches of Christ by October 31 (copy,               paste, & send the link to the person completing your recommendation). 

STEP 3: Submit a CV/ Resume by October 31.

STEP 4: Submit proof of enrollment by October 31.

 

 

5.  Wallace and Mary Murray Scholarship ($1500)

The Wallace and Mary Murray scholarship was established in 2015 in honor of the legendary service, dedication, and leadership of Brother and Sister Wallace Murray.Their sacrifice and service in ministry has been demonstrated for decades.The recipient of the Wallace and Mary Murray Scholarship should demonstrate an unquestionable record of service in the contexts of the church and the community.

 

To be considered for the Wallace and Murray Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current, active member of the Churches of Christ (for at least

       three years)

  • Be a student of color.

  • Be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate student or graduate student

 

STEP 1: Submit the Wallace and Mary Murray Scholarship application by October 31.

STEP 2: Submit a recommendation from an established minister church leader, or community leader who can    

              attest to your community service by October 31 (copy, paste, & send the link to the person completing  

              your recommendation). 

STEP 3: Submit a CV/ Resume by October 31.

STEP 4: Submit proof of enrollment by October 31.
